Course Expectations
Teacher Expectations and General Information
American History I & II
Students must be in class and participate in order to master the state goals.
¨ Students are expected to READ all assignments and be prepared to discuss them during the given class period. READING IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE COURSE.
Students are expected to keep notes on all class activities, demonstrations, and lectures.
¨ All assignments are to be turned in on time unless prior permission from the teacher is received. HOMEWORK IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE LEARNING PROCESS.
¨ Students will be required to write both long and short essays on both student and teacher selected topics.
¨ Tutoring is available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday upon request.
¨ Students are required to have a three ring binder, loose leaf notebook paper, pencil or pen (blue or black ink only) and colored pencils.
¨ Students are expected to conform to the CMS Behavior Guidelines.
¨ Specials classroom rules: NO CHEWING GUM, NO CANDY, NO FOOD, OR DRINKS, except water.
¨ Students get 3 restroom passes per semester, please use them wisely. You may earn extra passes by making a 100 on your tests.
¨ Parental contact is made via Progress Reports, PTSA Meetings, emails, and phone calls when necessary.
